    Wise Words of the Week:
"Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away."
    -- Carrie Bradshaw

    Verse of the moment:
"Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." -- Matthew 6:34

It's getting cold in here, so put on some more clothes...
It was Johnson's all-important 21st birthday yesterday and he threw a mini-party at Changi Aloha Chalet. Seriously, of all places, he had to choose a place so near my camp. I mean, I'm just so sick and tired of being anywhere near my camp area. Anyway, despite all the initial reluctance, I willed myself to turn up for Johnson's birthday party. It is after all, his 21st birthday. Hmmm... now that I'm turning 21 this year as well, I wonder how I would celebrate it... *ponder*

Over at the party, I managed to catch up with Jefferson and Dexter. Also got to know Jevon who happens to bear a faint resemblance to Edison Chen. I was thinking of asking him to star in my next short film... but too bad, he's still coop up in army. Oh well, there's always ample opportunites ahead. I showed Jefferson the short film I made and he liked it! Hee... felt so encouraged after that. Now I'm even more sure that film making is indeed the right path for me to tread on.

Jefferson and yours truly. Not much to see though, no thanks to my useless phone which can't even take decent pictures despite having a night mode function.

Anyway, me and Johnson, we go way back in JC. He was a councillor in SRJC and I happened to be there for their investiture. That was how I first got to know Johnson. Subsequently, I met him again at Pre U Seminar and that was when we established our friendship. Over the years, we've sort of seen each other through school problems, relationship problems, NS problems... amongst many other problems we tend to face growing up. Oh well, just wanna say, I'm glad to have a found a friend in you Johnson. Happy 21st birthday!!!

Johnson has his cake and eats it

After the birthday party celebration, I rushed down to Tanjong Pagar to meet the jim bean gang. Thank God Dexter had a car! Haha... I realized that friends who drive can be very useful indeed. That's why I love Elvin and Anders so much. Haha... Ok, I'm evil. Anyway, moving on... I was kind of shocked to see a rather huge turn out for the jim bean gathering. I was only expecting at most 3 people to turn up. But instead, eight managed to turn up! Those present were: Liting and her two girlfriends, Edric, Lawrence, Gillian, Dex and Han. Elvin was supposed to be there as well but he was late and by the time he came, I left. Bummer...

Guess who we saw at the MRT station? We saw LITING XIAO JIE! We were so excited! Got her to sign autographs and even manage to take pictures with LITING XIAO JIE! Wah... her pose damn solid sia. So glam...

And so, the nine of us marched down to Eski Bar to literally chill out. As mentioned in my previous entry, Eski Bar is a bar which has temperatures going all the way down to subzero. When we first entered Eski Bar, we were greeted by a sight of crowds wearing winter clothings. It was a rather perculiar sight since one seldom sees this in Singapore. Anyway, we were also hit by how cold it could actually get inside the bar! It was so cold that even vapour could be seen as we talk! If you find it a hassle to drag your winter clothes all the way down to the bar, fret not! Because the bar even provides you with winter clothes! Seriously speaking, Eski Bar would be the place to go if you hate to get all sticky and sweaty in bars or if you just want to parade yourselves in the latest winter wear. A caution though, the bar is rather small so you may want to go a little earlier to get your table.

No 1 Eski Bar is at 124 Tanjong Pagar Road, near the bus stop. Second Eski Bar (bigger) is at 46 Circular Road (opposite to Molly Malone). I love the coldness, just like the weather in Melbourne. Just imagine winter/spring in Singapore. I must go more often.
